Privacy Policy

Decipher exists to help people understand communication more deeply. We respect the trust users place in us and are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy describes what information Decipher handles, how AI processing works, and the controls you have over your data.

Decipher only processes information you voluntarily submit, which may include:

• Conversation text you type or paste
• Screenshots or images you upload
• Messages you ask Decipher to rewrite
• Optional personal context you provide to refine an analysis
• A first-name or nickname stored on your device for personalization

Decipher does not require an account, does not ask for contact information, and does not collect device identifiers, location, contacts, photos library metadata, or background data.

To generate a reflection, the content you submit is transmitted to our AI processor, Google Gemini, via the Lovable AI Gateway. Google Gemini processes the request and returns the reflection, which is then displayed in the app.

• AI provider: Google Gemini (operated by Google LLC), governed by the Gemini API Additional Terms of Service.
• AI infrastructure: Lovable AI Gateway, which routes the request to Google.

Decipher does not use your submissions to train any AI model.

Before your first analysis, Decipher displays a one-time consent screen that explicitly names Google Gemini as the AI provider and explains what is transmitted. No content is sent to Google Gemini until you tap "I Consent."

Your consent decision is stored only on your device (in local app storage) under a versioned key. If we materially change the AI provider or the nature of processing, the consent version is incremented and you will be asked to consent again.

The following are stored only on your device, never on Decipher's servers:

• Your submitted text and uploaded images
• The reflections, rewrites, and analyses returned to you
• Saved insights you choose to keep
• Your consent record
• Your optional first name and any delivery preferences

You can erase all of this at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling Decipher.

• Reflections and submissions: Decipher does not store your submitted content or the reflections returned to you in any database. They remain on your device.
• Sub-processor retention: Google Gemini and the Lovable AI Gateway may retain request and response content for a limited period under their own terms (for abuse monitoring, safety, and service reliability). Decipher has no access to that retained data and does not link it to your identity.
• Operational logs: Our infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers and the Lovable AI Gateway) records short-lived operational metadata for each request, such as timestamps, response status codes, latency, and generic error diagnostics. These logs do not contain your submitted content, screenshots, prompts, or AI responses. They are retained for a limited period for security and reliability purposes.

Decipher does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not run advertising and do not share data with advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics resellers.

Because reflections and submissions live on your device, you have full control:

• Delete individual items: remove saved insights inside the app.
• Delete everything: clear the app's local storage from your device settings, or uninstall Decipher to remove all locally stored data.
• Withdraw consent: clearing app storage resets your consent record; the next analysis will require a fresh consent.
• Sub-processor data requests: because Decipher cannot identify individual requests retained by Google or the Lovable AI Gateway, requests relating to that data should be directed to those providers under their respective privacy policies.

We transmit submissions to our AI processor over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure; please avoid submitting highly sensitive information unless necessary for the analysis you request.

Decipher is not intended for children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes that affect AI processing or data handling will be reflected in an updated in-app consent prompt.
